| THE 2010 EUROPEAN IRRIGATION DAYS - EIA / CEMAGREF | For the EIA, 2010 will be enlightened by a key event: The European Irrigation Days organized in partnership between the EIA and the CEMAGREF/ Lermi at Aix-en-Provence (France), from March 16 to March 18, 2010. The European Irrigation days include 2 days training (1 class for Landscape/Turf irrigation audit & 1 class for Ag irrigation planning - both in English & French - on March 16 & March 18, leaving the 17 free to attend conferences) and a DAY of conferences and mini trade-show, on MARCH 17, with as general topic: Irrigate while preserving the environment: tools, techniques & certification processes Manufacturers, importers, distributors, contractors, students, users are all welcome! For these which would like to exhibit their products or services, a basic stand of 6 m2 can be booked. As space and numbers of booths are limited, if you are interested, you have to register soon ! The Voice of OEDC Business
Since mid-2009, EIA is a member of the Expert Group of the BIAC (Business and Industry Advisory to the OECD), voice of the private sector at the OEDC. EIA represents the IRRIGATION and "Use of Water in Agriculture" sector. As you probably know, the OEDC is an international organization helping governments tackle the economic, social and governance challenges of a globalised economy. The OEDC is a major contributor to governments' decisions making process. Reports and recommendations of the OEDC are well documented and consistently recognized as pertinent. Olivier Debart
Following the EIA General Assembly and the Board of Directors held on June 25, 2009, Olivier DEBART has been elected EIA PRESIDENT. WE WELCOME President Olivier Debart ! Olivier Debart is President of "The Cercle de l'Irrigation" (Association of Irrigation Dealers-Contractors), Key Manager within the CEPEX Operations and G.M. of Irrigaronne, at the Fluidra Group (Spain). The new President and the Directors thank very much Rolf Krüger who was very active during the last 3 years at the head of the Association. He developped it in new areas in Europe and well promoted the high tech irrigation systems being efficient when using less water. |

Marseille selected to host the next World Water Forum to be held in 2012. So, it will be in EUROPE ! SEE PRESS RELEASE: HERE  It is annouced to be "the Forum of solutions" ! More on WWC web site On Friday June 19, the World Water Council selected Marseille, France as the city and country to host the 2012 World Water Forum. The selection followed a rigorous process for evaluating the candidates and a final vote from the Council’s Board of Governors. The World Water Forum is the world’s largest water gathering that brings together over 20,000 political leaders, NGOs, government officials, water professionals, and scientists every three years. |
